IF YOU, like me, have been divorced you might have been surprised by the pictures of Lenny Henry and Dawn French in the Daily Express earlier this week. They announced their separation three weeks ago yet appear to still get on so well they have just returned from holiday together.
If your experience of divorce was far from this, as mine was, you may have wondered how they could look so happy in each other’s company.
My divorce in the early Nineties was acrimonious. I had hoped to keep things amicable but instead it became a nightmare.
I worried desperately about my children’s wellbeing because at a professional level I know how difficult the consequences of a divorce can be for children.
Trying to keep your relationship civil during a divorce can be very difficult.
