What is Mediation?
In general, mediation is a process in which a neutral third party, known as a mediator, facilitates a voluntary negotiation process between parties to assist them in managing their conflict and resolving their disputes. There are several types of mediation. At Mediate Michigan we practice facilitative mediation. In this process the mediator directs the process and the parties control the outcome. The mediator will not make any decisions for the parties or any recommendations as to the outcome of the case.
