Collaborative Divorce
An interesting article by the Associated Press discusses both mediation and the alternative of Collaborative Divorce as ways to a “kinder, gentler” divorce process. The article can be found here.
After reading the article I would however note that Mediators are sometimes involved in the Collaborative Law process and Attorneys are sometimes involved in the mediation process. Further, in mediation the parties do not “entrust a resolution to a single neutral mediator” but rather the parties work out their own resolution with the help of a neutral mediator and sometimes two mediators will work with the parties to co-mediate a dispute.
