Divorce doesn’t have to be a pain in wallet
Money disputes cause many a marriage to unravel.
But when divorce does occur, spouses lose less money — and sleep — by being transparent about their financial dealings and working toward an equitable settlement, lawyers and financial planners say. Gathering all of the financial records before consulting a lawyer, divorce mediator or financial planner is a great first step.
However, untying the financial knot can be awfully tough, especially during the lingering economic downturn.
