Study: Divorce may not cause kids’ bad behavior
A recent USA Today article features a study done by Allen Li, associate director of the Population Research Center at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, Calif. Li’s study concludes that divorce is neither bad nor good.
Li completed a longitudinal study of 6,332 children using a 28-item checklist to measure behavior problems, such as crying, cheating or arguing frequently, from ages 4 to 15. According to the article: “He found a slight post-divorce increase in bad behavior that he says is so small it is not statistically significant.”
The article also notes other recent studies which seem to conflict with Li’s findings.
